Bettie Jo Butler of Lakeside, Navajo County, Arizona passed away August 17, 2011 at Solterra Senior Living in Lakeside. She has gone home to be with the Lord, her mother and father and brother and sisters. She was 84. Bettie was born on April 11, 1927 in West Plains, Howell County, Missouri to the late James and Susan (Campbell) Trantham. She leaves behind her son, Richard Butler of Louisville, Kentucky and daughter, Cherry (Bruce) Carroll of Show Low, Arizona; grandchildren, Stacey Butler of Louisville, Kentucky and JR Carroll of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Carolyn Trantham of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Bettie loved growing up in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She relocated to Houston in the late 50's where she raised her children and was a stay at home mom. In the mid 70's she returned to her hometown of Walnut Ridge where she enjoyed her family, friends, her home and her new found independence. She loved making a beautiful home for her family and her many friends. Inurnment will take place at 11:00AM Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Lawrence Memorial Cemetery with Paston Griggs officiating. The family would like to thank Anita James and the entire staff at Solterra Senior Living for her lovely home over the past 2 years and also her many friends she made while there.
