John Will Adams, Jr. died early in the morning hours of Monday, August 15, 2011 at his home in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona with his loving wife near him. He was 69 years old. John was born on March 24, 1942 in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida to the late John W. Sr., and Alice (Cockrell) Adams. John moved to Arizona 37 years ago and worked as a truck driver for many years. He was great working with his hands and was an excellent mechanic who enjoyed working on cars. In fact, John was quite competitive with his hobby and loved racing cars in his younger years. This gentle hearted man was a wonderful husband and, what even made him more unique was the fact that he loved all of his in-laws. John loved living in these beautiful White Mountains that he called "home." Whenever time permitted he would take advantage of his time off and could be found fishing in the local lakes and streams in these mountains. He was an avid outdoorsman and camping was another favorite pastime of his. John truly will be missed by everyone who has ever had the privilege to rub shoulders with him throughout his life. None will, however, miss him more than his own loving family. John Will Adams, Jr. is survived by: his wife, Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Barnes) Adams of Show Low, Arizona; 2 children: Shannon Adams of Florida, Stacey Adams of Montana; 2 grandchildren, Grant of Florida and Constance of Poland; 3 brothers: Jerry Adams, Wayne Adams and Richard Adams all of Florida. Private family services will be held.
