Wayne Arlow Owens passed away August 10, 2011 at The Carriage House in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona. Wayne was born on February 2, 1921 in Thatcher, Graham County, Arizona to the late James Clark and Linnie (Ellsworth) Owens. Being raised in Thatcher, he graduated from Thatcher High School. Following high school, Wayne attended aircraft school in California he also enlisted in The United States Air Force. During World War II, he was based in England where he repaired our war-torn aircraft. Wayne relocated to Show Low, Arizona in 1950. He worked, raised his family and retired from Arizona Public Service. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Kempton Owens in 2008. He is survived by his four children and their spouses: Lyman & Jane Duncan of Heber, Arizona, Digger & Jean O'Dell of Pima, Arizona, Jeff & Lena Owens of Denver, Colorado, Jack & Dolores Owens of St. Louis, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 300 N. 11th Street in Show Low, Arizona where the visitation will begin 1 hour prior. The concluding service, with military honors, and the interment will immediately follow at the Show Low Cemetery. Arrangements were cared for by Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel in Snowflake, Arizona.
