In memory of our "Hotshot" Deon "Dino" Jason Classay who passed away on July 24, 2011. Dino was born on May 1, 1968 in Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona to Minor Classay, Sr. and Roberta (Hinton) Classay. Dino was considered an easy going family man who constantly talked about his children. Dino loved camping, grilling, and going hunting with his son. Dino was a member of the Fort Apache Hotshot crew for the past 22 years. He was considered a protector and big brother to the rest of the Fort Apache Hotshots, consistently teaching the younger crew members about Wildland Firefighting. Dino's supervisor stated Dino was "well liked and commited to work." Dino is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mitzie Classay; son, Thane Classay; daughter, Mandy Classay; 2 granddaughters, Kylee and Kamare; mother, Roberta Classay; brothers, Minor Classay, Jr., Marty Classay; sisters, Debra Bead, Tina Classay, Roberta Lupe; traditional god-daughter, Tyler Baha and his second family, the Fort Apache Hotshots. He was preceded in death by his father, Minor Classay, Sr. Dino will be brought back to his residence, 3220 Ft. Apache Road, Seven Mile, Arizona for a two night wake begining on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00AM and will be laid to rest on Sunday, July 31, 2011. Funeral services, which are open to the public, will be officiated by Pastor Gary Lupe begining at 1:00PM at the Chief Alchesay Activity Center with interment at the family plot in Seven Mile, Solid Rock Cemtery immediately following the services.
