Born on June 8, 1922, Richard R. Genck passed away peacefully at home on July 17, 2011. Known to family and friends as "Ray", he was 89 years old. Born and raised in Fort Madison, Iowa, Mr. Genck worked for and retired after 30 years from Du Pont and Company. He spent his final years in Show Low, Arizona. A loving husband and devoted father, he is survived by his wife Beverly J., sons Richard A. Genck and Rod E. Genck, daughter Roberta R. Frederickson, daughters-in-law Cathy and Linda Genck, son-in-law Rev. William L. Frederickson, brother John M. Genck, seven step-children and his faithful dog, Prancy. Mr. Genck was the proud grandfather of Rick, Renee, Toby, Tina, Richard, Cameron, and Mariah Genck, Autumn and Brittany Frederickson, and several great grandchildren. An Army veteran, Mr. Genck was preceded in death by his parents John Tobias Genck and Tempy B. Hawkins, wives Marjorie and Evelyn, brothers Frank, Jerome, George, and Galen Genck, sisters Ruth Van Winkle, and Audra Sheperd, as well as one stepson. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Madison, Iowa before worshiping with his church family at Calvary Baptist Church in Show Low, AZ. A loyal friend and dedicated family man, Mr. Genck will be remembered for his strength of character, unconditional love, gentle spirit, ready wit, and abiding faith. A humble yet extraordinary man, he will indeed dwell in our hearts forever. A 10:00 a.m. service of Thanksgiving for the life of Richard R. Genck will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church, 241 E. McNeil Show Low, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice Compasses, 1789 W.
