Dave Reyes, of Holbrook, Navajo County, Arizona passed away July 7, 2011 at his home following a long battle with cancer. Dave fought hard till the end to fulfill his promise to his family that he would fight for his life. A loving husband, son, brother and the best father he will be missed by all but none more than by his family. Dave was born January 10, 1949 in Holbrook, Arizona to the late Raymond and Sally (Candelaria) Reyes. A veteran of the United States Army he served from 1969-1971. Following his service he returned to the Holbrook area where he has been ever since. Affectionately known as "Coach" he was very active in the Holbrook community. He coached youth sports for the past 25 years including baseball, soccer, basketball and women's softball. He retired from APS on June 25, 2011 as a meter reader following 30 years of service. An avid outdoorsman he loved to fish and camp. Most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Cher Reyes of Holbrook, Arizona; sons, Jason (Cristel Prue) Reyes of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jeremy (Adreian) Reyes of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Steven (Jennifer) Millage of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Levi Reyes of Holbrook, Arizona; daughters, Teela (Dan) Schelske of Tea, South Dakota, Daviana Reyes of Holbrook, Arizona; grandchildren, Rosario, Kendrin, Zachary, Alexis, Shawn, Adam, Easton, Grace, Sophia, Macie, Talan, Justin; sisters, Sugar (Juan) Florez of Holbrook, Arizona, Linda (Ralph) Tafoya of Mesa, Arizona, Irene Watkins of Kingman, Arizona; brother, Jay Reyes of Glendale, Arizona as well as many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Raymond, Francis and Michael Reyes. Mass will be held 11:00AM Monday July 11, 2011 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 212 E. Arizona, Holbrook, Arizona.
