Carl Frederick Rieck, of Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 at his home. Carl was born June 27, 1921 in Great Falls, Cascade County, Montana to the late Carl and Mary (Devey) Rieck. A veteran of the US Army Air Corp. he served during WWII where his first bombing mission was to fly a B-26 over Normandy Beach on D-day. A very patriotic man, Carl loved his service and the years he spent in the Corp. A very humble and caring man he will be missed by all. Carl is survived by his sons, Carl Lamar (Carmen) Rieck of St. George, Utah, Jerry Lynn (Mary Ann) Rieck of Chandler, Arizona; daughter, Mary Afton Meneses of Snowflake, Arizona; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Rieck in 2010; a son, Frederick Hansen Rieck in 2001 and a sister, Marion Merrill. The visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19th S. in Snowflake, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the Temple View Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2885 W. Hwy 277 in Snowflake, Arizona. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake, Arizona.
