Floyd O'Dell "Dutch" Arendell, age 88, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at his home in Overgaard, Arizona. Dutch was born on April 25, 1923 in DuQuoin, Illinois to Nathan & Clara Louise Sutter Arendell. He never knew a stranger and always had a smile on his face. Family was always first in his life. On February 4, 1943 he married Lois Alleen Jones in Long Island City, New Jersey, while serving in the military. After the war, they lived in Illinois for several years until they moved to Arizona in 1953. They lived in Phoenix until 1978 when they moved to Overgaard. He worked as a Mechanical Foreman and was a great handyman. Dutch was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he and his wife were privileged to have served two missions for the church, first in Rapid City, South Dakota and then in England. Dutch is survived by his children, Cheryl McGuire of Tacoma, Washington, Connie Nabors of Tacoma, Washington, Bill Arendell of Overgaard, Arizona and Dale Arendell of Sanger, California; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; nephew, George Roegler of Pasadena, California; niece, Melinda Mulvaney of Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Alleen Arendell on October 22, 2001. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Heber Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will begin at 9:00 A.M. at the church. Concluding Services and Interment will be at the Heber Cemetery.
