Elzie B. Burleson

Richard "Dick" Burleson, of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona passed away at his home surrounded by his family April 14, 2011. He was 84. Dick was born on October 22, 1926 in Lamesa, Dawson County, Texas to the late Blue and Lois (Little) Burleson. A Navy veteran of WWII he proudly served his country. Dick retired from Dresser Magabar in 1981 as a Logistics manager. He moved to Show Low, Arizona in 1973 and built his home in Fairway Park. He loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and the game of golf. Dick was an active member of the Show Low community. He served on the Airport Commission, Cemetery Commission, and the Show Low Golf Association where he was instrumental in starting the Show Low golf team. A true gentleman he will be missed by his family and friends. "We love you Granddad." Dick is survived by his wife, Erla Burleson of Show Low, Arizona; 1 son, Gary (Judy) Burleson of Show Low, Arizona, 1 daughter, Judy (Louis) Brewer of Andrews, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Shane Burleson of Show Low, Arizona, Jim (Julie) Burleson of Kihei, Hawaii, Angel (Richard) Bryant of Tucson, Arizona, Heidi (John) Lyszczarz of Spain and Amanda (Scott) Brewer of Andrews, Texas as well as numerours great-grandchildren. Dick was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Burleson; and by a son, Edward Burleson. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Show Low Cemetery with Pastor Matt Gaston officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Veterans of the White Mountains. In appreciation of the sweet, loving care provided by its members, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in his name to the White Mountain Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1975, Lakeside, Arizona 85929. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
