Marco Anthony Maestas

Marco Anthony Maestas died Sunday afternoon on February 20, 2011 at Mountain Vista Medical Center in east Mesa, Arizona. He was 47 years old. Marco was born on March 22, 1963 in Holbrook, Navajo County, Arizona to Louis Lucero and the late Helen (Gallegos) Maestas. As a young man, Marco enjoyed all sports and participated in several of them, including; baseball, football and wrestling at Holbrook High School all 4 year he attended there with great pride. He was a graduate from Holbrook High School's Class of 1982. Following his graduation, Marco attended Phoenix College, where he continued wrestling and studied physical education. He later moved to Chicago, Illinois where he worked as a produce manager and eventually became a chef at two Chicago restaurants. Marco was a kind and caring man, and was dearly loved by his family. Marco is survived by: his father, Louis Maestas of Holbrook, Arizona; maternal grandmother, Gabie Gallegos; 3 sisters: Patricia (Albert) Lopez, Pamela (Fred) Hanson, Shea (James) Maestas-Barela; 1 brother, Dean Maestas; 10 nieces and nephews. Marco was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Maestas and by a brother, Robert Maestas. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 4, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 212 E. Arizona in Holbrook, Arizona. Arrangements have been under the quality care of Owens Livingston Mortuary - Holbrook, Chapel.
