John Gregory Pritchett

John Gregory Pritchett, of Holbrook, Arizona, passed away with his loving wife at his side, Friday, February 25, 2011. He was 54. John was born April 27, 1956 in Decatur, Illinois to Robert Schwartz and Georgia Mae Koons. John was in retail sales all his life and started right out of high school with JC Penny. He then started a book store and snack shop for the Palos Verdes Faith Center in Torrance, CA and then for the Heritage Family Fellowship in Anaheim, CA. Following his time in Anaheim, he began to work for the Mervyns Department store. He then continued his work in retail for Linens and Things and Michaels Craft Store. His most recent employer was ALCO in Holbrook where he was promoted to store manager in September. John was admired for his hard work and dedication to his job. Many times people would often complement John on his work and many strived to be more like him. He most recently inspired many by returning to work just 4 weeks after surgery due to complications of an illness. His district managers always looked to John for anything that needed done. John always seemed to meet friends wherever he went and never knew a stranger. On March 11, 1978 he married the love of his life and soul mate, Kerry Lynne Clayton, and they enjoyed many wonderful years and trips together before his passing. A very humble man, he will be missed by all. John is survived by his loving wife, Kerry Pritchett of Holbrook, Arizona formally California; mother, Georgia Mae Pritchett of Hemet, California; sisters, Cindy Denison of Lexington, Tennessee, Christine Jackson of Salem, Oregon, Debby Freeman of Los Angeles, California, Becky Burns of Montague, California, Lori Jenkins of Yulee, Florida; brothers, Marc Schwartz of Yulee, Florida, Robert Schwartz of Westmont, Illinois, Dennis Schwartz of Salem, Oregon as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Schwartz; his dad, John Frank Pritchett and a nephew, Aaron Denison. Private services are planned.
