Malye G. Malone

Malye G. Malone, age 84, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Whiteriver, Arizona. She was born July 2, 1926 in Cibecue, Arizona to Horace and Mary (Griggs) Gooday. Malye worked for the BIA as a switchboard operator, as a secretary for FATCO, she also worked in the employment office for the WMAT and as a cashier for the WMAT. In 1990 Malye was named WMAT "Woman of the Year". Malye was a longtime member of the Whiteriver Lutheran Church. She is survived by her 7 children; Charlene Hamilton, Wesley Malone, Sr., David Malone, Charles Malone, Jr., Marlene Truax, Virginia Larzelere, William Malone, Sr.; 37 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Minnie Nachu; sister-in-law, Pauline Gooday and 3 godchildren. A wake will begin at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 21, 2011 at the family residence, 618 N. Chief Ave., Whiteriver, Arizona. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Whiteriver Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the Whiteriver Cemetery. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
