Lila Lucille Milton Gentry Overly, age 87, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Show Low, Arizona. She was born April 22, 1923 in Caddo County Oklahoma to Leonard Leaf Milton and LeTushia Pearl Smith Milton. Lila was raised in Oklahoma where as a young girl she worked in the cotton fields. She was one of 11 children. Although she had very little formal education, she valued it greatly. She taught herself to read and write. Lila loved ranching, gardening and the mountains and she was a great cook. She was the family matriarch who was loved by everyone. Her family was everything to her. Lila is survived by her children: Carolyn A (Roy D.) Gauweiler, Cecil Ralph (Shirley) Gentry and Julia "Judy" Pearl (Fred) Nelson; grandchildren: Paula A. (Mike W.) Buchanan, Cindy Lynn (Lee S.) Sheller, Cecil Dean (Cassie) Gentry and Christine M. (Frank) Nadeau; great-grandchildren: Grace A Estell, Benjamin J. Estell, Nicholas Pazarentzos and Zachary Robert Shelle; step-great-grandchildren, Nathan Buchanan, Samantha Buchanan and Austin Buchanan; step-great-great-grandchildren, Cassidy Buchanan; brothers and sisters; Lawrence L. Milton, Melvin R. Milton, Eileen L. Milton Lening and Edna A. Milton Chadwell. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters; Stella M. Holcomb, Lillie F. Kleffman, Dorthea L. Ballard, Buna M. Milton and Lorean F. Copple. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Show Low Cemetery.
