Homer Spencer

Homer Spencer "Soldier Boy", passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low. He was 98. Homer was born on February 18, 1912 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Stan and Anna Spencer. Homer and his late wife Bessie made their way from Louisiana in the 1930s to work for a sawmill in McNary, Arizona. Little did they know this would be the beginning of a 30-year career in the lumber industry for Homer. Homer started out setting chokers in the log woods and worked his way up the ladder to operating heavy equipment. The best days of Homer's life were spent traveling with his loving wife throughout the Southwest and California. Their favorite pastime was fishing. Private Services were held.
