Helen Rosalee Gardner died quietly at her Snowflake, Arizona home from causes incident to her age. She was 97 yers old. Helen was born on September 30, 1913 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma to the late Halbert Judson and Myrtle Estelle (Rudkin) Flowers. She was raised in Hayward, Oklahoma. As a young woman, Helen attended business college in Enid, Oklahoma. When she married, she went to work at Tinker Air Force Base. She moved to Arizona from her native Oklahoma in 1954. At that time she began working for a bank in Holbrook, Arizona where she also made her home. She later worked at the bank in Snowflake and retired as a teller after nearly 24 years of dedicated service. While living in Holbrook, Helen embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1962 her husband, Bill Richards passed away and she later married Horald Gardner, who also preceded her in death in 2002. Helen was a loving wife and mother and always saw that her family was well taken care of. She will be missed by all whom ever had the privilege to know her, however, none will miss her more than her family. Helen is survived by her 5 children: Thomas Lynn Richards (Connie) of Snowflake, Arizona, Beverly Payne of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Boyd (Joan) Gardner of Oakley, Idaho, Butch (Lavell) Gardner of Snowflake, Arizona, Ellen (Don) Crede of San Jose, California; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchidren; 19 great-great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Gannon Thomas. The visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19th South in Snowflake, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Pioneer Park Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Snowflake, Arizona where additional visitation will begin 1 hour prior. Bishop Lynn Johnson will officiate at the funeral proceedings. The concluding service and interment will follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
