David Alan Hair died Sunday morning, December 19, 2010 at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Arizona following a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was 60 years old. David was born on March 30, 1950 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas to the late Dwight Alan and Donna (Rodenburger) Hair. As a young boy around 7 years old, he and his family moved from his native Kansas to the sunny coastal city of San Diego, California where he remained the next 50 years of his life. He graduated from Crawford High School in San Diego in 1968 and then went on to attend San Diego Community College. On June 25, 1983 David married his life's love, Cheri Marie Tracy at the St. Columbus Catholic Church in San Diego. They most recently celebrated 27 years together as husband and wife. For many years, he worked for First Health Community Care Network in San Diego as a maintenance technician. He also owned his own mechanic shop there and thoroughly enjoyed working on all types of engines. He loved his motorcycles and his sports cars. Throughout his life he owned several motorcycles and always had fun driving his different Porsches. Always looking for the thrill in life, David liked his toys to go fast! He moved to Arizona 3 years ago from San Diego making the White Mountains his final home. He loved the beauty of this area and found much peace and comfort during his illness. While living in Show Low, he worked for Show Low Motor Sports and was a familiar and friendly face to many. David always worked hard and gave his all to what ever task was at hand. His example of good work ethics will be missed by the many people he used to work with. None, however, will miss him more than those who loved him the most, his family. David Alan Hair is survived by: his wife, Cheri Marie Hair of Linden, Arizona; 3 children: Jeffrey Joseph (Tina) Hair of San Diego, California, Brieana Marie Hair of San Diego, California, Michael David Hair of Show Low, Arizona and by 1 grandson Jospeh Porter Hair of San Diego, California who was born on November 10, 2010. Private family services have already been held where his life and legacy were so beautifully honored. Memorial Contributions to The White Mountain Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1975, Lakeside, Arizona 85929 have been suggested by his family.
