Aurelio Eddie Rhodd died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from injuries he sustained after being struck by a car in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona. He was 15 years old. Aurelio was born on December 29, 1994 in Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona to his mother, Kristy Marie Perry and his biological father, Edward Rhodd. For most of his life, Aurelio lived in Tucson. He was a sophomore at Catalina Magnet High School in Tucson and was very popular and well-liked by everyone. Aurelio was extremely intelligent and smart. While attending school in Cibecue, he took first place in its spelling bee. He then went on to compete in the Navajo County spelling bee and did a great job there as well. Aurelio loved reading. He frequently could be found curled up reading a good book. He was brilliant. He was known for his kind heart and was willing to do anything for anybody. He, too, will always be remembered fo his quiet polite ways and the great respect that he had for others. Aurelio enjoyed life to the fullest. He found great joy with the simple things in life. He always had fun playing his video games and was always willing for the challenge that those games offered. Aurelio loved playing basketball and would spend countless hours improving his basketball skills. As a little boy, he was taught to respect the beauty of God's creations. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and could frequently be found fishing at one of the many lakes of the White Mountains. His favorite lake to fish at was Horseshoe Lake. Aurelio was also a gifted musician and taught himself how to play the guitar as well as the piano. He could play his music by ear and never took a formal music lesson. The music he played was beautiful. Aurelio also had a special place in his heart for animals; especially his pets. He loved his dogs Simba, a chow, and Phantom, a pit bull puppy. Simba died just 3 weeks ago and Aurelio mourned him deeply. His family takes comfort in the fact that Simba and Aurelio are reuninted and enjoying each others companionship again. Aurelio was a tremendous support to all of his family and he truly loved to be around them. He considered his brothers and sister to be some of his best friends. He was a loving son to his parents and a loyal confidant to the rest of his large exteded family. They all will miss his sweet smile and gentle ways. Aurelio is survived by: his mother, Kristy M. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Charlotte Rhodd and 2 grandfathers: Leon Bead and Randy Bead. The wake for Aurelio will begin 8:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the family home of Regina Bead, 410 S. Indian Pine Drive in Hondah. The funeral service will begin 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Whiterver Baptist Church (Right off of Highway 73 on East River Road in Whiteriver) and the interment will follow at the Whiteriver Cemetery.
