Vernon Orville Hite

June 25, 1941 — December 6, 2010

Vernon Orville Hite, 69, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at his home in Concho Valley, Arizona. A former Mt. Pleasant, Iowa resident, he was the son of Kenneth and Dorothy Hite. He served during the Vietnam War as a Navy Petty Officer on the USS Midway. He was a "PUFL" member with the American Legion and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, as well as a member of the 40&8. He was a craftsman who built homes throughout Arizona. He enjoyed repairing and painting automobiles and working on his property. He also enjoyed walking his dog everyday. He is survived by his wife, Leona of Concho Valley, Arizona; a son, Kenneth; a daughter, Michelle; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and a sister, Phyllis Barron of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents. Private services were held.
