Benjamin Thomas Malone

November 10, 1932 — December 4, 2010

Benjamin Thomas Malone, of Burton, Arizona went to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 4, 2010 at his home in Burton. He was 78. Ben was born November 10, 1932 in Holbrook, Arizona to the late Alvie and Sylvia (Williams) Malone. Ben was a Veteran of the US Navy and served for 20 years before retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 1970. He then worked for Bell South, formally AT&T, for 20 years before his retirement. He was an active member of the Burton Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He loved the outdoors especially fishing and camping. An avid traveler he loved to tell stories of his adventures. Ben was known for his great sense of humor. He loved to captivate an audience with poems that he had memorized by his favorite poet, Robert Service, and as anyone who knows of his poems this was quite the feat because of the length. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy Malone, of Burton, Arizona; 1 son; 1 daughter; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters as well as many extended family members and friends. Graveside services will be held 12:00 noon Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Burton Cemetery in Burton, Arizona with Pastor Matt Gaston officiating.
