Elwin Elrowe Ellsworth, long-time resident of Show Low, Arizona and descendent of those who first settled there, died Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at the age of 76. He died of natural causes. He was able to pass surrounded by family in his home, where he longed to be after many days in the ICU. He was born on April 19, 1934 in Show Low, Arizona to Elwin and Dicie May (Brimhall) Ellsworth. He is survived by his two sisters, Geniel Gardner and LaDawn Brewer. He married "Ma" July 17 1965 in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Snowflake High School and happily refused the idea of any further education. He continued the ranching and farming business that his father passed down to him. He was the Show Low "Ditch Boss" for many years. He loved hunting, trapping, camping, and most aspects of ranching. He was known for his quick wit and humor. He had a gift for writing poetry, and if he liked you enough, you were privileged to know this fact. He was a real cowboy. His main requests in life were more money, a little rain, some pie, and Dr. Pepper. Elrowe is survived by his wife, Betty Anne; 7 daughters and 2 sons, along with their spouses: Dicie and Shawn Palmer of Taylor, Arizona, Delline and Kenny Angle of Thatcher, Arizona, Ethan and Tami Ellsworth of Show Low, Arizona, Temberly and Wade Gardner of Show Low, Arizona, Velmarie and Allen Foster of Chino Valley, Arizona, Eleece and Jeffrey Gardner of Surprise, Arizona, Dawniel and Jonathan Flake of Snowflake, Arizona, Alene and Cory Kovac of Gilbert, Arizona and Jonathan and Kim Ellsworth of Show Low, Arizona. Thirty-five grandchildren and one great-grandson are blessed by the legacy he leaves them. He is predeceased by his infant daughter, Elizabeth, whom he happily embraces now. The visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 318 N. 11th Street in Show Low, with an additional visitation 1 hour prior. The concluding service and interment will follow at the Show Low Cemetery.
