Ecco Reynolds Udall, 98, quietly passed away Monday, November 29th at her son's home in Taylor. Ecco was born December 15, 1911 in Eagar, Arizona to the late Amasa O. and Minnie Lee Reynolds. She was the 3rd of 8 children born into this pioneer family. She spent her youth in the small hamlet of Luna, New Mexico. She married Joseph Jackson "Jack" Udall on February 6, 1933. She started her professional career in the late 40's as a telephone operator in Eagar. Later, she became a clerk at the old Southside hospital in Mesa. She took classes at MCC and Arizona State University and became a Medical Records Librarian at the Chandler Hospital. Shortly after she turned 60 her husband passed away on May 23, 1972. While still working full time, she fulfilled the dream of going to beauty school. She enjoyed the challenge and became a wonderful hairdresser. At the completion of beauty school, she retired from the hospital and worked for a few years as a hairdresser. She would work in Mesa during the winter and in at a shop in Alpine during the summer months. Among the many talents she possessed, Ecco loved to quilt, crochet and garden. She lovingly crafted many beautiful items for family and friends. She loved the many family photographs she collected; she created beautiful picture albums with those pictures, much to the enjoyment of her numerous posterity. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Lucinda Reynolds, Twylah Hamblin, Orvil "Son" Reynolds, H L. Reynolds, Thora Adair and Rex Lee Reynolds. Survivors include her sons Joseph L. (Frances) Udall of Stevenson Washington, Flynn (Katy) Udall of Taylor, Arizona and daughter Connie Rae (Terry) Randall of Pine, Arizona, 15 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Hulsey of Luna, New Mexico. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the Love Lake Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taylor, Arizona (right off of Love Lake Road) with the viewing one hour prior to services. The concluding service and interment will be 3:30 P.M., Saturday, December 4, 2010 where she will be laid to rest next to her loving husband, at the Eagar Cemetery.
