Dorothy Naydine Farrow

March 24, 1939 — November 6, 2010

Dorothy Naydine Farrow died peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Scottsdale Heritage Court in Scottsdale, Arizona following a lengthy but valiant battle with cancer. She was 71 years old. Naydine, as she was commonly known, was born, one of nine children, on March 24, 1939 at the old Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona to the late Murray Thomas and Fay (Hamblin) Belshe. She is a direct bloodline descendent of Jacob Hamblin and was so proud of her pioneer heritage. In the 1970's, Naydine was a self-employed jewelry peddler. She was based out of Snowbird but was able to travel all over the country selling her beautiful indian jewelry including: rings, bracelets and necklaces. Her children were able to travel with her and they thoroughly enjoyed spending that time with their mother. In August of 1976, Naydine married James H. "Jim" Farrow in Wenatchee, Washington at Omi Gardens. They most recently celebrated 36 years of marriage together. She was expert in that field and was able to lighten the load of the many doctors who hired her for her billing expertise. By nature, Naydine was a people person. She loved good conversation and enjoyed helping others. It was that love for her fellow man that she became a certified hypnotherapist. Through therapy sessions, she was able to help hundreds of people lose unwanted weight and hundreds of people beat the smoking habit; no doubt, saving and extending the lives of many. Some of Naydine's happiest times were spent with her own family. She thoroughly enjoyed the company of her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and siblings. Never short on words, any conversation she was involved with was interesting and very entertaining. Naydine had her "iron" in many fires. One of those fires included her fondness for the outdoors. She loved camping and could catch just about anything with her fishing pole. Naydine was also a big game hunter. Many elk and deer were her trophies; as she enjoyed the sport so much. Naydine also had a special affinity for hiking. During her hikes she would search for and explore dozens of Indian ruins throughout the state; always maintaining a high level of respect and dignity for those sacred sites. Dorothy Naydine Farrow is survived by: her husband, Jim Farrow of Eagar, Arizona; 4 children: Don Metters of Billings, Montana, Sharie (Mitch) Shirer, Michael (Lisa) Metters of Spokane, Washington, Shelley Metters of Eagar, Arizona; 4 grandchildren: Rachel (Cody) Marsh of Forest Lake, Minnesota, Elizabeth Farrow, Maverick Lewis, Jared Graham; 2 great-grandchildren: Preston Marsh, Irelynnd Marsh; 6 siblings: Nanna (Derrall) Roundy of Farmington, New Mexico, Michael (Ann) Belshe of Winslow, Arizona, Charles (Joni) Belshe of Eagar, Arizona, Pamela "Pam" (Fred) Martin of Eagar, Arizona, Penny (Mike) Ryan of Eagar, Arizona and Bill (Susan) Belshe of Colorado. The funeral service will begin 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Eagar Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 135 Main Street in Eagar, Arizona. The concluding service and interment will follow at the Alpine Cemetery in Alpine, Arizona. Arrangements are being cared for by Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel in Show Low, Arizona.
