Byron Lee Peterson died Saturday afternoon on October 16, 2010 at Mi Casa Nursing Center in Mesa, Arizona following a lengthy illness. He was 77 years old. Byron was born on November 15, 1932 in Declo, Cassia County, Idaho to the late Charles Otto and Olive (Avery) Peterson. He moved to Arizona 59 years ago. Byron married the former, Nadine Margaret Catmull and, together they were the proud parents of a son, Marvin Peterson, who has preceded them in death. Throughout his life, Byron considered himself to be a farmer. He specialized in poultry and collected eggs on a regular basis. Byron and Nadine were familiar faces in the White Mountains for many years, as they lived in Show Low and Wagon Wheel for some time. Byron attended the funerals of many of his acquaintances over the years and always looked forward to the fellowship receptions that followed, where his friendships were re-newed. Byron was a simple man and appreciated the simple things he found in life. His ways may be considered child-like to some but, in The Master's Plan, he was Celestial. This loving man will be missed, not only by his family but, also by his community of friends. Byron is survived by his wife, Nadine Peterson currently of Mesa, Arizona; 1 sister, Luella Haycock of Burley, Idaho and by dozens of nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents and son, he was preceded in death by 12 of his siblings.
