Robert Vataha, Sr.

Robert Vataha, Sr., of Whiteriver, went to be with the Lord September 9, 2010 in Phoenix. He was 57. Robert was born January 17, 1953 in Cedar Creek, AZ to Ernest Newhall, Sr. and Freda Wool. Robert was employed with the BIA Forestry Service for over 30 years where he currently was the Dispatch Supervisor. He was well known throughout the community and especially for his radio show on KNNB Apache Radio. He was always uplifting people through his radio show, even when he fell ill, he felt that his radio message was the medicine he needed. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He loved to watch and play basketball, especially with his children and grandchildren. He was always buying trucks and fixing them up whenever he had the chance. He loved to visit Disneyland and be in the presence of his family. He will never be forgotten and will be remembered for his smile and helpful ways. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Juanita of Whiteriver; sons, Robert Vataha, Jr. and Lowell Mark Vataha; daughter, Farrah Angel Vataha; daughter-in-laws, Tara Vataha and Raina Vataha; grandsons, Xavier Vataha, Khalid Vataha and Robbie Vataha; granddaughters, Theresa Vataha, Tyla Vataha, Siena Vataha, Nikki Vataha and Tiiara Vataha. A viewing will be held from 7:00-10:45AM Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Canyon Day Miracle Church in Canyon Day. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, September 14, 2010 also at the church. Burial will follow in the Whiteriver Cemetery.
