Harold Elmore "Buddy" Robinson, of Show Low, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 following a tragic mining accident. He was 77. Buddy was born July 31, 1933 in Santa Ana, California to the late Durward Elmore and Velma (Bowser) Robinson. Buddy was a 4 year veteran of the US Navy having served honorably during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed at the NAF El Centro base in El Centro, California before being deployed on the Aircraft Carrier Kearbarge, where he toured Hawaii, China, Hong Kong and some of the Japanese Islands. He was a natural day-dreamer always chasing the dream. He was an avid "rockhound" and had the opportunity to homestead in Alaska. He loved to delight his children and grandchildren with his many rock hunting stories. He had a great sense of humor and was known to many as "Crazy Grandpa". Buddy was greatly loved and will be missed by all whom had the opportunity to have known him. He is survived by his loving wife, Patty Robinson of Show Low; a son, William H. Robinson (Yolanda) of Ventura, California; daughters, Melody Rose Robinson of Show Low, June Rose Baker of San Bernadino, California; grandchildren, Dennis Allred, Lisa Allred, Frank Robinson, John Robinson, Michelle Allred, Patricia (Jessie) Campos, Jim Robinson, Alexsander Vogl and Micah Robinson; great-grandchildren, Cherish Capps, Timken Capps, Jassie Allred, Cassandra Campos, Whitney Robinson, Kale Wolfe, Ashlynn Robinson, Jacob Campos; sister, Barbara Giovannie of Leesville, Louisianna; brothers, Robert and Gary Robinson of Kenai, Alaska as well as a cousin, Jack Robinson of California. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Robinson and son-in-law, Jeremy Baker. Private services will be held.
