James T. Caldwell

James T. Caldwell, of Lakeside, passed away August 11, 2010 at his home in Lakeside. He was 87. James was born October 13, 1922 in Gillette, WY to the late Tyner A. and E. Authordale (Hasselblad) Caldwell. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Rilla Lewis Caldwell. He is survived by his sister, Nancy (David) Bunch; daughters, Sylvia (Bruce) Rowell and Ronnie (Jim) Bunker; sons, Rodney (Glenna) Caldwell and Stephen (Deborah) Caldwell; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Jim's family moved to Lakeside in 1929 when he was 7 years old. He served in the Amy Air Corp during WWII. He owned and operated Caldwell's Market in Lakeside. He also worked for the Navajo County Highway Department and retired from the Arizona Department of Transportation. He was a charter member of the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Dept., was on the Sanitary District Board and the Lakeside Cemetery Committee. Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Pinetop-Lakeside Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1520 Church Lane, Lakeside. A viewing and visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00PM Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Owens Livingston Mortuary~White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St., Show Low and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow in the Lakeside Cemetery.
