Lonnie Wayne Bonito died Saturday, July 31, 2010 from injuries in Whiteriver, Arizona. He was 31 years old. Lonnie was born on February 26, 1979 in Whiteriver, Arizona to his parents, Ronald and Annalita (Goklish) Bonito. He attended Alchesay High School in Whiteriver and was well-liked by all. Lonnie worked for some time as a wild land firefighter for the Bureau of Indian Affairs Forestry Department. He truly was an outdoorsman and appreciated the beauty he found in the White Mountain area. He enjoyed taking hikes and walking through the forest, camping, hunting and fishing. Lonnie was an active member of the Assembly of God in Carrizo where he easily made friends. He was also a familiar face at the Rainbow City basketball court, as he enjoyed running up and down the court with his friends during intense games of basketball. Lonnie was a loving family man and he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family which included his parents, grandparents, brother, sister, nieces and nephews. However, some of his greatest joys came from being with, and spending quality time with, his own children. Lonnie is survived by: his companion, Tonita Zospah of Lifesavers; children: Shanyra Bonito of McNary, Arizona, Jason Bonito of Lifesavers, Peyton Bonito of Lifesavers; parents: Ronald and Annalita Bonito of Diamond Creek, Arizona; brother, Ronnie Bonito (Valita) of East Fork, Arizona; sister, Saralynn Bonito Massey (Duane Lyle, Sr.) of Diamond Creek, Arizona; paternal grandmother, Melissa Bonito of Rainbow City, Arizona; and his maternal grandmother, Celena Goklish of Diamond Creek, Arizona. The 2-day wake for Lonnie will begin 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Bonito Family home, 4901 N. 1st Avenue in Diamond Creek, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 1:00 P.M., Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the North Fork Miracle Church in North Fork, Arizona. The concluding service and interment will follow at the Whiteriver Cemetery.
