On Monday, June 28, 2010, Edgar Vernon Stewart of Sun Valley, Arizona went to be with Our Lord. He was born March 21, 1930 in Seaford, Delaware to Cottie Olivia Osborne and Odis Harvey Stewart. He grew up in North Carolina and Norfolk, Virginia. Edgar served during the Korean War in the United States Army 82nd Airborne. He was most proud of his Country and the FLAG. Edgar belonged to the American Legion Veterans of Foreign Wars and the disabled American Veterans. Edgar loved children and animals and this love was returned many folds. Before he got sick he enjoyed hiking in the painted desert, riding ATV's, fishing, going to the casino's and watching T.V. but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Edgar will be missed so very much. Edgar met Rita Jo Smith in Norfolk, Virginia and they were married for 51 years. Together they had Joe Stewart of Sun Valley, Arizona, Odie Stewart (deceased), Rita Moore (Scott) of Holbrook, Arizona, Eddie Stewart of Sun Valley, Arizona and Chris Hardy of Panama City Beach, Florida; two grandchildren, Tara and Timothy Moore; three great-grandchildren; Sebastian, Mason and Landen all of Holbrook, Arizona; two sisters, Carolyn Miller of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Joyce Brown of Mechanicsville, Virginia; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister, Libby; three brothers, Harvey, Joe and Jimmy. A public visitation will be held Monday, July 5, 2010 from 9:00 to 10:45 A.M. at the Owens Livingston Mortuary - Holbrook Chapel with the services to begin at 11:00 A.M. at the same location. Burial will be at the West Resthaven Memorial Cemetery 6450 W. Northern Ave. Glendale, Arizona 85301 Tuesday July 6, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.
