Vivian Rose Bush

October 6, 1926 — June 13, 2010

Vivian Rose Bush died during the cool morning breeze on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at her daughter's home in Show Low, Arizona. She was 83 years old. Vivian was born on October 6, 1926 in St. Ignatius, Lake County, Montana to the late James Lafayette and Mina Catherine (Doyle) Brown. She moved to Arizona in 1938 and lived several years in Phoenix. While there she attended North Phoenix High School. Vivian met the love of her life, Leamon Pike Bush, at a dance. After a brief courtship the two were married just after midnight, November 7, 1946, after waking the Justice of the Peace, and his wife, in Salome, Arizona. They were married more than 60 wonderful years when Pike died in May of 2007. Vivian was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Pike, and a great mother to her children. She thoroughly enjoyed her role as being the family homemaker to them. She was an excellent cook and nobody ever left her home hungry. She loved her family dearly and they all loved her. Vivian was a friendly being and many would refer to her as a social butterfly. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel comfortable when in her presence; a gift that everyone will truly miss. Vivian was very artistic and was a gifted oil and water color painter. Many of her paintings are decorating the walls in the homes of her family and friends. They are considered some of the earthly treasures she left behind. Vivian loved being in the great-out-of-doors. She appreciated the beauty of the White Mountains and found a great deal of peace and comfort whenever she would go to her cabin at Hawley Lake. There she enjoyed long hikes in the woods and basked in the serene beauty she found only there. This sweet and gentle woman was nothing but a lady throughout her life. None will miss her more than those she loved the most; her family. Vivian is survived by her 3 children: Greg Bush (Shelly) of Overland Park, Kansas, Tim Bush (Sue) of Phoenix, Arizona, Lori Haynes of Show Low, Arizona; 6 grandchildren: Breann Tedford (Egan) of Tucson, Arizona, Jeri Lynn Clark (Doug) of Show Low, Arizona, Greg Haynes of Show Low, Arizona, Robert Bush, Nicole Bush, Lindsie Bush, all of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 great-grandchildren: Colton Clark, Lane Clark, both of Show Low, Arizona; 2 sisters: Louise Ziegler (Al) of Scottsdale, Arizona, Doreen Waites of Phoenix, Arizona and by 1 brother, Doyle Brown (Lois) of Meridian, Idaho. Along with her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by 1 son, Robert Leamon Bush in 1961. Her funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Central United Methodist Church, 1875 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona where the visitation will begin at 8:30 A.M. The concluding service and interment will follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix where she will be laid to rest between her husband, Pike, and son, Robert. Memorial Contributions, in her name, to the White Mountain Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1975, Lakeside, Arizona 85929 have been suggested by her family. Arrangements are being cared for by Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel in Show Low, Arizona.
