Martha King passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 12, 2010 just as the sun was setting in the western sky, with family at her side. She was 90 years old. Martha was born August 2, 1919 in Grant, Nebraska to the late Fredrick and Emma (Wieland) Seifer. She married Clarence Eugene King on November 27, 1939. They had a farm in Sutherland, Nebraska before moving their family to Arizona in 1945 due to Eugene's health. They moved to Whiteriver, AZ where Eugene got a mail franchise to haul the mail and freight from Whiteriver to Cibecue 3 days a week and hauled the first freight and mail to Maverick 2 days a week. In 1951 the family moved to Show Low and got into the grocery business known as King's Market. In 1961 they started King's True Value Hardware in Wagon Wheel, AZ. Martha was the business partner where they worked together in all their business endeavors. She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Carlisle (Jack); sons, Kenneth King (Linda) and Dennis King (Cheryl); 9 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 2, 2010 at the White Mountain United Methodist Church in Show Low.
