John Louis Cox died suddenly on Friday, June 11, 2010 at his home in Lakeside, Arizona. He was 47 years old. John was born in Elgin, Illinois on June 15, 1962 to his parents, Randall "Randy" and Shirley Joyce (Buchanan) Cox. John retired from The Apache Railway Company several years ago and was very active at the Valley View Baptist Church. He served as an RA leader, a young adult Sunday school teacher and helped start a mission church in Concho Valley, as Pastor. John was responsible for the sound system at church for many years. He loved his church and especially, his Pastor, Bob Seymour. He was a very loving and caring husband, son, father, brother, uncle, and grandpa. Our hearts will forever miss him and we will hold dear all of the family memories of our times together. He is survived by his wife, Cruzita "Cruz" J. (Lopez) Cox of Lakeside, Arizona; his parents, Randy and Shirley Cox of Snowflake; his daughter, Britnee Cox; his grandson, Christian; his sister Penny (Bob) Page; his brother Randall (Karen) Cox and his dog, Bear. John also had many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and other extended family, including his church family, who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grand-parents John and Lillie Buchanan and Monroe and Iva Cox. Family and friends are warmly invited to his public visitation 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19th South in Snowflake, Arizona. His funeral service will begin 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Valley View Southern Baptist Church, 1212 South Main Street in Snowflake where Pastor Bob Seymour will officiate. The concluding service and interment will follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake, Arizona.
