The great singer and songwriter, Vincent Craig, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010 in Scottsdale, Arizona from complications associated with cancer. He was born June 6, 1950 in Crownpoint, New Mexico to Nancy Mariano and Bob E. Craig. He married Mariddie J. (Johnson) Craig in August 1978 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Vincent was very active in community affairs in Indian County. He served as a Boy Scout leader and helped many young men. Vincent was the first organizer of the Search and Rescue for the Whiteriver Police Department. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; having served as the Branch President, a High Priest and a Branch Missionary. He is survived by his wife: Mariddie; his 3 children: Dustinn, Nephi, Shiloh Vincent Craig; adopted daughter: Kyra Littleflower Johnson; mother: Nancy Mariano Craig; 2 brothers: Harrison Craig and Emmerson Craig; 3 sisters: Vivian Craig, Lucia Craig and Alvera Craig. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Fort Apache Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral services are Friday, May 21, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Pinetop-Lakeside Stake Center Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with burial to follow at the Whiteriver Cemetery.
