Betty Lou Daly died quietly in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Arizona following a courageous battle with esophogeal cancer. She was 80 years old. Betty was born on June 15, 1929 in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri to the late Paul and Flossie (Farris) Kynion. She graduated from high school and was an excellent student who had many friends. She met the love of her life, Lewis Dean Daly, and the couple were married on August 5, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri. They were married nearly 60 years and were best of friends throughout their long marriage. In 1973, Betty and Lewis moved to Tucson, Arizona where Betty worked as a medical records clerk for the Tucson Clinic. She was a hard worker and was thorough with anything that was asked of her. After living 30 years in Tucson, Betty and her husband moved to Vernon, Arizona in 2003. She absolutley loved the beauty of the area. She appreciated the sharp contrast of her forested backyard compared to the desert of Tucson. Betty found peace in the shadows of the White Mountains and was proud to call this home for the past 7 years. Betty had a great fondness for flowers; any and all types. She enjoyed seeing wildflowers as she traveled down the highway, mile after mile, with her husband in their motorhome. They visited beautiful places all over the United States in their "house on wheels" but, she was always glad to return to the comfort of her own yard. Betty was an avid gardener and could grow just about anything. Her family will miss her "green-thumb" and gardening talents. Betty was so devoted to her family, as they brought her the most joy. She was a loving wife to her husband; a loving mother to her children and a doting grandma to her grandchildren. Betty is survived by: her husband, Lewis Dean Daly of Vernon, Arizona; 4 children: Terry Daly of Vernon, Arizona, Ronald Daly of Marana, Arizona, Thomas Daly of Vernon, Arizona, Kathryn Daly of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 grandsons and 3 great-grandsons. The memorial service for Betty will begin 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Welcome Home Baptist Church in Vernon, Arizona (1/4 mile off of Hwy 60 from Show Low, turn right on Apache County Road 3148, then left on Apache County Road 3099, follow church signs to the church.) Please call (928) 242-0099 if further driving directions are needed. Betty's family would like to thank everyone for their heart-felt love and concern as well as their prayers. God has answered them. Memorial contributions, in her name, to the White Mountain Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1975, Lakeside, Arizona 85929 have been suggested by her family.
