Pearl Victoria Eaton passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Arizona from causes incident to her age. She was 81 years old. Pearl was born on July 10, 1928 in Snowflake, Arizona to the late Pressman Moses and Unisa Victoria (Mackey) Plumb. She grew up in Clay Springs, Arizona and at the age of 13 took on the role of mother to four of her siblings and a helper to her father. Pearl enjoyed the ranch with her father, working cattle and building fences. She and her father would ride to Pleasant Valley or to St. Johns to see his brothers and camp out over night. Pearl also enjoyed gardening, sewing and handiwork. Pearl married Edmen James Eaton on April 17, 1955. They lived in Clay Springs, Nutrioso and Hilltop, Arizona, finally moving to Cuba, New Mexico where they made their home. For the past five months Pearl has lived in Woodruff, Arizona. She loved everyone and claimed many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as her own as she was never able to have children. They all loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. Pearl is survived by: 1 brother, Jack R (Erlene) Plumb of Woodruff, Arizona; 2 sisters: Nova Mae (L. Kay) Thompson of Tempe, Arizona, Cleo Myrna (Philip Roy) Salter of Fair Acres, New Mexico; 3 half-brothers: Elmer Christopher Salling of King George, Virginia, Charles Franklin Salling of Antonita, Colorado, JD Salling of Wenatchee, Washington; 1 brother-in-law, Glenn Robinson of Pima, Arizona; 1 sister-in-law, Peggy Ann (Coffey) Plumb of Delores, Colorado; 2 step-sons: William James (Dana) Eaton of Clay Springs, Arizona, Franklin L. (Wilma) Eaton of Liberal, Kansas; 1 step-daughter, Annie Louise Latham of Liberal, Kansas and a special friend (son) Joseph White of Cuba, New Mexico. Along with her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Edmen in 2001; 2 brothers: JM Plumb, Dewey Pressman Plumb; 2 sisters: Birdie Lou Robinson, Iva Jean Plumb; 1 half-brother, Clifford Milburn Salling and by 1 half-sister, Dorothy Grace Salling. The graveside service for Pearl will begin at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Clay Springs Cemetery in Clay Springs, Arizona where she will be laid to rest along side many of her family members.
