Augustina Montano

September 12, 1919 — April 22, 2010

Augustina "Aggie" Montano of Holbrook passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 in Show Low. She was 90. Aggie ran "Joe and Aggies" restaurant in Holbrook for many years before her retirement in 1978. She is survived by daughters, Mary Gabaldon and Alice (Stanley) Gallegos both of Holbrook; brothers, Fidencio Tafoya and Pete (Katy) Tafoya, Jr. both of Holbrook; sister, Annie (Gene) Gabaldon of Holbrook; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-laws, Esther Montano of Tucson, Eleanor Montano of Holbrook; many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe; sons, Armando and Johnny as well as 4 brothers. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the Recitation of the Rosary to begin at 7:00 P.M. Monday, April 26, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will begin 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Holbrook Cemetery.
