Our loving mother and grandmother, Mary Louise Duran went to be with her Lord and Savior, early Tuesday morning, April 20, 2010 at her home in Snowflake, Arizona following a lengthy illness. She was 77 years old. Mary was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1933 in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico to the late Aldolfo and Adelina (Madrid) Ortiz. She married the love of her life, Alfonso Sarafine Duran on February 26, 1949 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a devoted homemaker to her family throughout her life and lived many years in southern California. Her husband died in March of 1996 after more than 47 years of marriage together. Mary is survived by: her son, Johnny Duran (Margo, his wife) of Doloney, California; daughters: Barbra Duran (David, her companion) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kathy Decker (Jared, her husband) of Snowflake, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Duran of Snowflake, Arizona; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and by many more relatives and friends that love her and will miss her dearly. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Ray Duran in 2003. Her visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, April April 28, 2010 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19th South in Snowflake, Arizona. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will begin 11:30 A.M., Saturday, May 1, 2010 at St. Mariana Catholic Church, 7922 S. Passons Boulevard in Pico Rivera, California where additional visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. The committal service and interment will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery in Montebello, California where she will be laid to rest along side her husband, Alfonso.
