Ralph Edward Rollman

September 1, 1928 — April 9, 2010

Ralph Edward Rollman died Friday, April 9, 2010 at his home in Show Low, Arizona following a lengthy illness. He was 81 years old. Ralph was born on September 1, 1928 in Minot, North Dakota to the late Clarence Leroy and Lucy (Peck) Rollman. He was raised on a farm in Granville, North Dakota where he appreciated the value of hard work. Throughout his life, Ralph worked as a maintenance man in the construction industry. He relied a great deal on the skills he learned while working alongside his father when he was still a little boy. He moved to Arizona in 2006 from Maine and quickly found the beauty of the White Mountains, breathtaking. When Ralph wasn't working, you could probably find him at the shore of some lake or stream, fishing. He loved to fish and, much to his family's delight, brought the fish home for some good ol' home cooking. Another of Ralph's passions was that of playing cards. He thoroughly enjoyed a good card game with members of his family or with those who where fortunate enough to call him "friend." He was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending quality time with his very large family. He is survived by: his wife, Shirlie Jean (Sinclair) Rollman of Show Low, Arizona; 5 children: Edward Rollman (Terry) of Salem, Oregon, Clarence Leroy Rollman (Terry) of Scottsdale, Arizona, Thomas Rollman of Portland, Oregon, Jeffrey Rollman of Salem, Oregon, Bonnie Jean Sims of Park City, Utah; 2 step-sons: Stephen Badger of Brewer, Maine, Scott Badger (Audrey) of Holbrook, Arizona; 4 brothers: Gordon Rollman (Edna) of Granville, North Dakota, Harry Rollman (Jean) of Minot, North Dakota, Donald Rollman (Cleone) of Granville, North Dakota, Robert Rollman (Helen) of Granville, North Dakota; 2 sisters: Marion Finke of Michigan, Lois Gotvasle of Minot, North Dakota; 11 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren. Ralph was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Raymond Rollman, Leroy Rollman, Richard Rollman; 1 sister, Margaret Snap and by one daughter-in-law, Joannie Rollman in 1997. Military honors and inurnment will be held at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona.
