Jason Ray Yazzie

Jason Ray Yazzie, of Holbrook, passed away June 1, 2009 in Alburquerque, New Mexico following a long illness. He was 29. Jason was born May 24, 1980 In Winslow, AZ to Tim and Eva (Staley) Yazzie. Jason grew up in Holbrook and attended the SDA Indian School up to the sixth grade. He then attended the Holbrook Junior High School and later graduated from Holbrook High School in 1999. Following High School Jason attended Arizona State University, Mesa Community College and Northland Pioneer College. Jason had a great sense of humor and was always laughing and joking around with his friends and family. He was extremely friendly and helpful to others and especially considerate of his brother, sister, nieces and nephews. Jason loved being around animals and watching high school basketball. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Tim and Eva (Staley) Yazzie of Holbrook, Arizona; sister, Laverne Joe of Holbrook, Arizona; brother, Tyson (Lorrie) Yazzie of Page, Arizona; nieces & nephews; Maurice Joe, Eldon Thompson, Jr. "Boy", Theresa Joe; Tamera Thompson; Shania Thompson; Desirae Thompson "Girl"; aunt, Eleanor Dale of Wide Ruins, AZ. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wallace and Mary Staley. A visitation will be held 9:00 AM Friday, June 5 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with the funeral services to begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery.
