Helen Wilson

October 29, 1933 — November 19, 2009

Helen Wilson, 77, of Show Low was called home to heaven on November 19, 2009. She was born to the late Charlie and Mae Wilson on October 29th, 1932 in Estill, Kentucky. Born the second eldest of 11 children in Kentucky, she took on the roll of caregiver to her younger siblings. In 1955, she married the late Roy Lee Kerr and had one child, Juila Ann Kerr. After moving to Arizona, she started working at the Arizona State Capitol as a tour guide for school kids. Soon after that, she was promoted to personnel director, until she retired and became a caregiver to her parents until their passing. In spite of her strong dislike toward the cold, she decided to move to Show Low to be more close to her family because she loved them so dearly. Care-giving was her passion and felt it was her calling so she started working at the Show Low School as an assistant to the special needs school bus driver. She was the most happy when she was caring for people. She had a passion for music and loved to sing. She sang in her church choir and with the Sweet Adelines. She loved to use her voice to sing old church hymns and to sing to her grandchildren. Square dancing was another one of her favorite hobbies. She is a beloved Mother, Grandmother, G.G., Sister, Aunt and friend. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed but we know we have a special angel watching over us now. She is survived by her daughter and her husband; Julie and Wade Heuett of Show Low; two grandchildren and their spouses, Trisha and Jason Spear, Justin and Victoria Heuett, all of Show Low; four great grandchildren, Samantha and Ethan Spear, Dillan and Myla Heuett; four brothers, Richard (Peggy) Wilson, LaHabra, CA; Jim (Ginger) Wilson, Battleground, In; Jerry (Joan) Wilson, Camp Verde, AZ; Thomas (Jule) Wilson, Phoenix, AZ; one sister Liz Cunningham, Chino Valley, AZ. She is further survived by, numerous nieces and nephews who she loved. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brother's Jack and Phil; three sisters Barbara, Ima Lee and Marlene; 1 niece and three nephews. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Resthaven Park Cemetery - 6290 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, Arizona.
