Nellie Curtis Thomas

Nellie Curtis Thomas, age 62, passed away March 22, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 10, 1947 in Sand Spring, Arizona to George Donald Curtis and Mary Yellowhair. Nellie was a great wife and mother who was loved by all who knew her. She worked in the Show Low School District for 10 years. She was a good caregiver to others, especially the children at school. Nellie is survived by her husband, Benny Thomas; 5 children; Arnold Thomas Sr., Amos Thomas, Herschel Thomas, Connie Thomas, Brenda Lee Groeneveld; 2 brothers; Leroy & John Curtis; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held 12 noon, Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Show Low Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Show Low Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the family to help with incurred expenses.
