Donald Stearns Taylor, Jr. died Friday, January 11, 2008 at RTA Hospice and Palliative Care in Lakeside, Arizona from lung cancer. He was 60. Don was born on October 15, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Donald S., Sr. and Virginia (Prentice) Taylor. Though he was born in Boston, he always considered himself a native of Lexington, MA, as that is where he was raised. He moved to Arizona 4 months ago from Florida to be near his son. Throughout his life, Mr. Taylor worked as a technical engineer in the construction industry. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to go fishing. He was also blessed with a "green thumb" and could make anything grow in his extensive vegetable garden. However, if NASCAR racing was on t.v., you can bet that he was inside watching it! He is survived by: his wife, Patricia "Patty" (Dasher) Taylor; daughter, Lori Street (Christopher) of Kalispell, Montana; 3 sons: Don Taylor, III (Richelle) of Eagar, Arizona, Jason Taylor (Karen) of Bullhead City, Arizona, Aaron Taylor (LaShauna) of Bullhead City, Arizona; brother, Jack Taylor (Marcia) of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; sister, Leslie Bellao of Winter Haven, Florida; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. A memorial service for Don will be held 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at The Chapel of Owens Mortuary, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low, Arizona. Memorial Contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718 have been suggested by his family.
