Harry Spencer, of Holbrook, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Webb's Adult Care Home in Snowflake. He was 83. Harry was born December 25, 1925 in Indian Wells, Arizona to the late John & Yanibah (Bima) Cowboy. Harry served as a Navajo Code Talker in the United States Marine Corps from 1945-1946. He was an avid outdoorsman finding anything he could work on to be outside. Harry loved to play games with his grandchildren especially basketball. He retired from the Coronado Power Plant in St. Johns in the late 1970's. He is survived by his wife, Fern Spencer of Holbrook, AZ; children; Ray Dee (Lenora) Spencer of Kayenta, AZ, Elizabeth Spencer of Holbrook, AZ, Randolph (Sharon Wauneke) Spencer of Gallop, NM, Larry Spencer of Holbrook, AZ, Herman (Kathleen) Spencer of Holbrook, AZ, Harrison Spencer of Mesa, AZ, April (Delbert) Ranger of Pinon, AZ, Jennifer (Wendell) Valera of Fontana, CA, Dani (Erwin) Hendricks of Chandler, AZ; 24 grandchildren; 6 great-grandkids and many extended family and friends. Harry is preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Spencer in 1997; daughter-in-law, Nancy Seger in 2007; mother, Yanibah Cowboy in 1989; brothers, Jack Spencer in 2007 and Mitchell Spencer in 2004. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM (MST), Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Pentecostal Church of God, 823 Mission Lane in Holbrook with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Holbrook Cemetery.
