Thora Lavon Sorenson

Our much loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Thora Tobler Sorenson, at the age of 94 passed away on January 7, 2010 in Show Low, Arizona. She was born April 9, 1915 in Washington, Utah to Albert and Barbara Tobler. She lived most of her life in Washington, Utah but moved to Show Low, Arizona when she was eighty to be near her family. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held many positions in the different auxiliaries. She was a great cook and worked in the Washington school lunch program for many years. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed life, her friends, and especially her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Louis) Rawlings; five grandchildren; Travis (Lila) Rawlings, Ryan (Jennifer) Rawlings, Tyler (Melissa) Rawlings, Tiffany Rawlings, Nicholas Rawlings, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney N. Sorenson; her parents, Albert and Barbara Tobler; 3 brothers, Archie, Ernest, Clark; 5 sisters; Ella, Pearl, Vera, Lula and Neola. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Washington First Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM.
