Paul Soderstrom, 86 of Phoenix, passed away September 7, 2006. Born in Denmark, his family moved to New Jersey when he was 18 months old. He grew up in Hoboken, NJ and was a classmate of Frank Sinatra. Following school he went into the Navy. After his military service, he worked for the New York Times. He moved to Arizona in 1972 and married Helena Spear in 1973. They made their home in Phoenix and Paul worked for the Arizona Republic, retiring in 1980. They have spent many summers in Lakeside. He was a proud "Ba-Ba" to his grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife, Helena Soderstrom of Phoenix; daughters Stephanie (Dennis) Irwin of Lakeside, Pamela (John) Kelly of Phoenix; and 6 grandchildren. Private services will be held at a later date.
