Wilfred H. Smith, 67, of Holbrook, passed away, August 11, 2007 in Phoenix. Mr. Smith, a resident advisor for the Holbrook Dormitory, was born, December 25, 1939, in Grey Mountain, AZ where he grew up and attended school. Following school he began working for the BIA and was an Educational Aide for the Boarding School in Holbrook. On December 29, 1960, he married Nancy Rose Negale in Richfield, Utah.. They made their home in Holbrook. In 1982, he was named Holbrook Father of The Year. He retired from the BIA in 2002 and in his retirement he enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Rose Smith of Holbrook; 2 sons, Jonathan Smith of Holbrook, and Reverend Fred Smith of Fort Duchesne, Utah; 3 daughters Wilhemina Olsen, Willa Smith, both of Holbrook and Winifred Whalen of Phoenix; Father, Harry Smith of Grey Mountain; brother, Frank Smith of Chinle and sister, Mary Smith of Grey Mountain. Funeral services will held Wednesday August 15, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Owens Mortuary Chapel in Holbrook.
