Lynda Smith, 66, of Show Low, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at her residence. Lynda was born October 19, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK. The daughter of Marion and Polly Sue (Patty) Richards, she was raised and attended school in Broken Bow and Idabel, OK. She came to the White Mountains over 40 years ago. Lynda was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed quilting, gardening and reading. She was of the Southern Baptist faith. She loved people, especially her children and grandchildren. Lynda is survived by her mother, Polly (C.G.) Brooks of Broken Bow, OK; three sons, Carl (June) Smith of Pinetop, David Smith of Show Low and Ricky (April) Smith also of Show Low; six daughters, Celia (Joe) Sargent of Idabel, OK, Polly (Richard) Jeffery of Newport, WA, Candy (John) and Shelley Sutton also of Newport, WA, Missy (Jerry) Gonzales of Corpus Christi, TX and Rebecca Preston of Show Low; 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lisa Rollings and Judy Peevy; brothers, Samuel, Lemuel and David. She was preceded in death by her father, Marion Richards and a brother, Jimmy. A memorial was held Saturday December 13, 2008 at RTA Hospice and Palliative Care.
