Inez Mackay Smith, age 85, of Linden passed away Saturday June 2, 2007 at the RTA Hospice & Palliative Care Center in Lakeside, AZ due to Natural Causes. She was born May 29, 1922 to Hyrum John and Eliza Ann (Bawden) Mackay in Taylorsville, Utah. Inez was the 9th of 13 children. She attended school in Taylorsville and graduated from Granite High School. She then attended Brigham Young Academy. Inez then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Northern California. On June 7, 1950 she married Theodore Fawns Smith in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Utah until 1952 at which time they moved to Linden, Arizona where they raised 8 children. Inez was a faithful member of her church where she served in the Relief Society, Young Women and Primary and as chorister for a number of years. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren and has made numerous quilts and other hand made gifts for countless friends and family. Inez loved being with her family and making many memories at cookouts on the ranch. Inez is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ted Smith; 2 sons and 6 daughters, Annell (Dean) Bryant of Linden; Kay (Margaret) Smith of Garland, UT, LaFawn (Ken) Wilcock of Linden, Norma (Greg) Beveridge of Pleasant Grove, UT, Gayla (Keith) Wahl of St. Johns, Jeanette (Don Ray) Johnson of Lakeside; Quinn Smith of Linden and Ellen Smith of Linden; one sister, 35 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her daughter, Ruth, 7 brothers and 4 sisters, preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 8, 2007 at the Show Low Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1401 West Deuce of Clubs, Show Low, AZ. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 Thursday evening at Owens Mortuary in Show Low, and from 9:00-10:30 A.M. Friday morning prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Pinedale Cemetery.
