Michael E. Slaton

Michael Eugene "Opey" Slaton, age 50, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lakeside. He was born on February 7, 1957 in Franklin, Ohio. Michael was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. He was a strong and loving father. Michael is survived by his parents, Eugene & Shelby Slaton of Overgaard; sons, Chris (Jackie) Slaton of Safford, Jason Slaton of Safford; one granddaughter Mikayla of Safford; brothers, Bob Slaton of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Scott Slaton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters, Vickie (Rodney) Burggraf of Phoenix, and Sherri (Bill) Cook of Taylor as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carole.
