Bessie Bea Schey, of Tucson, passed away peacefully Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Carriage House in Snowflake. She was just three weeks shy of her 100th birthday. Bessie was born December 17, 1909 in York Center, Wisconsin to the late William and Lulu (Grubb) Bolton. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend she will be missed by many. Bessie worked in the medical field and worked for the University Hospital in Wisconsin prior to moving to Washington and Oregon where she worked for various Eye Doctors. Following her move to Washington and Oregon, Bessie moved to San Francisco, CA where she worked in a factory assembling parts for WWII. In 1950 she married Eugene Schey in San Francisco and in 1952 they moved back to Wisconsin for 5 years. In 1958 they moved to Tucson, AZ where they resided until Eugene's death in 2006. While in Tucson she volunteered her time at a hospital. Bessie loved to paint and socialize with her family and friends. She lived life to the fullest and was very active and adventurous. She loved her family and friends very much as well as her dog, Barron. She is survived by a son, Kent (Tracy) Schey of Show Low, AZ; grandchildren, Marilyn Schey of Prescott, AZ and Robert Schey of Show Low, AZ; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 2006; 2 sisters, Alice Manthe and Winnie Blumenstein. Private services are planned for a later date.
