Ralph "Lane" Roundy, 46, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in Flagstaff. Funeral services were held May 16 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Holbrook. He was laid to rest in the Holbrook Cemetery. Lane was born on Sept. 8, 1962, in Kalispell, Mont., to Rose Marie Shakespeare and Duaine Kay Roundy. He was raised in Columbia Falls, Mont. He graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1981. He then served a mission for the LDS church in Sacramento, Calif. Lane married Leesa Knudsen on June 18, 1985, in the Mesa Temple. In 1990 they moved to Holbrook, where he has been an operator for Enterprise Inc. for the past 19 years. Lane had two passions. One was the Scouting program. He served as a leader in the Boy Scouts for more than 20 years. He was a master storyteller at Scout rendezvous and Scout camp. He touched the lives of many youth. Lane was also a volunteer fireman in the Holbrook Fire Department for the past nine years. He enjoyed helping the department with the Fourth of July barbecue and shooting off fireworks. He gave many hours of service to our community. Lane was always willing to help someone else out. He often stopped to assist a broken down traveler out on the highway, on his way home from work. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and mountain man activities. He was a loving husband and father. Lane leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Leesa Roundy of Holbrook; one son, Devin Roundy of Holbrook; three daughters, Jennifer (Johnathan) Roes, Erika Roundy and Kelsey Roundy, all of Holbrook; his father and mother, Duaine and Rose Roundy of St. George, Utah; four brothers and two sisters, Lewis (Kim) Roundy of Enoch, Utah, Connie (Rick) Blake of St. George, Ron (Bev) Roundy of Eagle River, Alaska, Bruce (Chery) Roundy of St. George, Lloyd (Holly) Roundy of Diamond Valley, Utah, and Janette (Gary) Stratton of St. George; many nieces and nephews; and all his brothers on the Holbrook Fire Department.
